On Sunday May 5th, 2024, the majestic Gaylord Resort Hotel opened its doors to receive nearly a multitudes of faithful who traveled from the east coast of the United States of America to participate in three days of prayer services in celebration of the Holy Supper in memory of the redemptive sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ.
In this great gathering, an impressive monumental choir united to elevate hymns of praise. Their harmonious voices united in praise to God and was heard by all the attendees who joyfully entered the hall adorned as a temple. The faces of the attendees reflected the joy of uniting once again in the most important celebration for the Church of the Light of the World.
Children, youth, adults, and the elderly all entered the huge hall and were impressed to see a venue prepared for thousands of people. They too were happy to be among thousands of faithful who share the same faith and Christian principles. At 9:00am the venue was filled to capacity as the brethren sang “My soul so longed to see you again, many days and time passed”.
The first prayer meeting of the Holy Convocation is the Welcoming Ceremony, a festive ceremony in which delegates from the States on the east coast, churches and missions present were invited to pass through the center aisle carrying the flags of the states invited to this celebration while the rest of the church raised their hands and said “Welcome!”
Thus began the Holy Convocation at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in Washington, D.C., a historic and unprecedented gathering.
