Houston, Texas, February 14, 2024. This afternoon, the Light of the World’s congregations from various cities in the state of Texas held a special Holy Supper service at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
At three o’clock in the afternoon, the religious service that brought together thousands of Christians from the state of Texas, began. Who, gathered in this city to partake of Holy Communion, to commemorate the redemptive sacrifice of Jesus Christ and renew the covenant of unity, fraternity and love with God.
Prior to the participation of the bread and wine, there was a moment of preparation through praises sung by groups of brothers from various cities in the state of Texas, as well as the choir, composed of hundreds of voices that joined together to remember the sacrifice of love of our Lord Jesus Christ through its hymns.
“For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.”
The brothers who gathered in this city, the most populous city in Texas, lived this beautiful spiritual experience in the midst of songs and prayers, endorsed their free commitment of love with God.
The sacrament was instituted to remember the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the ultimate expression of love for mankind.
The sacrament also recalls God’s good will toward men, a manifestation of the sublime love of God, who did not spare even his own Son, but gave him out of love for all men (Romans 8:32).
